To an amazing suprise, today I received addy in the mail, such a long trip. Again, she has numbers on her neck?? The book seems to be autographed by the author for a little girl she knew and given for a birthday in 1994, and her dress says "Made in West Germany for Pleasant Company, Doll contains All Synthetic fiber. @1986 Pleasant Company"
Correct me if I'm wrong, but how can I have a doll from 1986, if she wasn't released until 1993? She was from ebay, and came with her quilt too, 1993. Does anyone have a dress like hers, or a doll with a dress like hers, or do I have something really special here??? Please let me know.

Do y'all think they will have a big 20th anniversary celebration for it? Maybe they will have an 80's doll or something?
It's what I hope they do. I would buy her and everythign they came out with in a heartbeat.
That new on the go outfit, makes me think they would have NO problem tackling the 80s. Those ankle tights, with the mini-skirt, sooo 80s. In fact, that outfit begs for a crimply, blonde haired doll with big bangs, named Jennifer to wear it!
Oh my god! I don't know how many times I have said to my mom how awesome an 80's doll would be! I can't even begin to imagine the clothes! I think early 80's would be the best!
If I remember correctly, I think a copyright lasts for ten years, so even though it says 1986, it's just the copyright date for the American Girl name.
Still, I'd say she's special, especially if you have an autographed book and to have PM Addy!
No doubt she's special! I just put her through the full day spa package, and now she's shinny as can be.

Some of the items that are now on sale at AG have 2006 or 2008 on them. Go figure!
The codes on Addy's neck are sign that she is from the German factory. My Addy has them and she is a "first generation" one, too. And her dress is tagged 1986, too.
Enjoy your new princess. Addy is my favorite for many reasons (don't let Miaoshi, or Rhada or Rhiannon, or Kat, or Laurel hear this, please!!!)

The date on the tag is not the date of the doll. The recent dolls say 2008 on them, and that hasn't even gotten here yet [img]eek.gif[/img]
